Ultimate Victory and Terrible Defeat

            In a war there are two outcomes: victory or defeat. Both themes were present in Aeneid. These two elements of war could bring forth happiness or despair.
             The unfortunate Trojans felt terrible loss at first but as the story goes on, they were excelling and improving. Their hearts were filled with hope as Aphrodite guided them. They crushed enemies and the lost comrades. Aeneas lost his father and his wife. He also lost Dido his sweetheart because she killed herself. Both sides of the war felt victory and defeat. The Latins killed most of the officers of the Trojans even the mighty Pallas. With Turnus as their commander, the Latins set forth to battle the Trojans and turned the tides of war. And with Aeneas as their leader, the Trojans showed great desperation to win. It is true that after defeat there always comes the ultimate victory. The Trojans are good examples of stillness and perseverance.

Fall of Troy

       As the Troy fell I could still hear the cries of despair and sorrow of Aeneas' troops. At first I was in favor with the Greeks but as I realized that it was truly Paris who caused the fall of Troy by foolishly stealing Helen from the Greeks, I felt sympathy for the Trojans.
      As Aeneas was leaving Troy, his home, my heart was crying out for them. Such misfortune should not befall these innocent, glorious people. I'm sure that the people listening to Aeneas at that time when he tells the series of unfortunate events that happened to them they were feeling sympathy,too.
      To pursue someone's destiny is hard if it was against someone's will. But for the sake of his dwelling place and their destroyed sanctuary, Aeneas still went on and flowed with the waves.

A Historic Sunday Afternoon of My Life

              I was walking around the park wondering what would happen if the Spaniards had not given us to the Americans. Would we be still slaves? Could Rizal's hardships ignite our forefather's hearts for a second time? Those thoughts were circling in my mind but someone touched my back. "Hola, my countryman.",said the man. I was astonished. Rizal was right there before my eyes. We greeted each other in Spanish I was stunned that I lost my vocabularies. He talked me into revealing the effects of his wondrous and heroic sacrifices. " What do you think about our modern government today? Do you think I would like the way they govern us now as I would like them to be during my times?",he told me. I answered sheepishly," Well, our government chose wisely on improving the economy. They are using your principles and ideas in politics and freedom." I saw his eyes sparkle and I knew that he also knew that his plans are going to be true and it sure is. " Have faith and fear not my fellow countryman for I see that our country is having its moment of glory." And he turned his back and walked away. I believed in him and I was ready to make a difference.

 My Affectionate Confession of to My Love.

Dear Angel,

           I would like to tell you some serious things about me. I could not contain this longing to tell you these sweet confessions. I want you to know that I have loved you from the first day that I set my eyes on you. My heart skipped a beat and I knew that I was loving you as a man could ever love a woman. It was as if we were destined to know each other. I was dreaming of you every single second of my life and I could not hurt you. Such things are very hard to explain and this feelings of mine, I could never fathom. Words are not enough to describe my affections to you.

           This I say with the most sincere and faithful thoughts for you, my one and only love. Don't forget that there's someone who looks after you and will never let you go.

My Favorite Teacher

        My idea of a favorite teacher pierced me in the heart. For what other teacher do you get but a loving and understanding teacher like our most precious Teacher Malou Salazar-Del Rosario? Our teacher lives in Maragondon, Cavite and she IS truly a remarkable teacher. A teacher like her should not be forgotten for the good things that she had shared with us.
         Ma'am taught us good manners but instead we are still like hungry animals in a zoo. She understands us. She know our techniques. Is that a specialty, Ma'am? She seems to know our moves and she can always go with our discussions. She is also a Health teacher, making her a remarkable on especially to boys. She's not very good in maintaining a frowning face. She always greets us and she can dominate us(with a difficult way). At the very first time that I saw her, I knew that she's the one that I will be fun with.
         Sometimes, asking my weird questions is very hard to do. That's why I don't get a favorite teacher. Ma'am found my weakness that I almost got out of questions. Oh! My foolishness. She makes me answer my own questions. And I end up getting stricken with my own weird thoughts. Just how smart she is! Imagine a mother that knows you from the sole of your foot to the top or your head!
            

Mother Nature's Problem

            Flash floods, landslides, pollution and all other life destroying catastrophes are man-made. Why do we experience such dilemma? One answer: Destruction of nature. Mother Earth is slowly dying. And it is all because of man's foolishness and innocence. We don't know the effects of our wrongdoings on ourselves.
              What will be of us if Mother Nature was destroyed? Simple. Total extinction. People just cut down trees without replacement. If Mother Nature can talk, and if voices can kill, we are all dead by now. Because if you look on what's happening in the world because of our foolishness you'll be surprised. Everyone loves Earth because of its life-sustaining properties not because it sacrifices itself just to sustain us. We all love Earth, but do we?
              We can start saving Earth just by conserving electricity. We don't have to stay inside our houses and drill the brains out of us. Just get out and help in programs. Replant trees and you will see that love and faith will sustain Earth and even us. She's calling us to love her like our mothers who are loving us. So see and believe. Mother Nature needs you!

Which do you prefer? English or Filipino?

        Filipino is one of the most widely used language in Philippines. It is our "Mother Tongue". Filipino, also known as Tagalog, is my preferred language because I was trained and made to speak in Tagalog. While, English language is the most preferred language when speaking to foreigners. And also, almost all schools are implying the English speaking campaign. So some Filipinos are used to speak in English.
         It is truly a rivalry between the two languages. But with Tagalog I always prefer side in. Our ancestors tried to fight with freedom to speak and act. So, now all of us are having the same ideals. Our way in speaking is not important. But we should also be careful in using our own language because sometimes we always misinterpret words. Tongue has the power to control and it is the most powerful weapon of all. So, language also can affect lives.
         Filipino or English? It is always right to choose a side. But don't forget that what you are and what you're born with is in your blood. You are a Filipino so be proud. You are fluent in English, be proud also because someday your skills and your right decision will make you the best of all.
